About The Position

mcfa is searching for leaders that are solution-driven, problem solvers, with experience in clean energy programs, to lead a team of junior engineers in support of a major utility provider in the New Jersey area; as a Senior Energy Engineer. The role requires leading a team of junior energy engineers to review and organize energy efficiency/ clean energy improvement grant applications as well as perform field verifications to confirm the proper implementation of advanced funded projects. mcfa Core Values (LEADS): Love (each other, mission, work) Entrepreneurial (spirit of innovation) Accountability (to ourselves, our clients, each other) Delight (customers and teammates) Stretch (individual and collective growth mindset) Who you are: New Jersey Resident Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering 5-7+ years of related professional work experience Energy Programs Experience with ASHRAE Level 1 and Level 2 energy audits Knowledge of Energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, etc.) Hands-on experience with end-use metering instrumentation Demonstrated knowledge of lighting, motors, and HVAC systems Word, PowerPoint knowledge, Advanced level Excel capability Excellent written and oral English communication skills for customer communication Display a positive, team-oriented attitude to match our friendly work environment Must be able to meet the requirements to drive for company business Willingness and ability to travel, primarily by car throughout the PSE&G service territory Approximately 25% of the time Position will require onsite inspections and walking of the customer’s locations. Some light climbing Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening

Requirements

  • New Jersey Resident
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 5-7+ years of related professional work experience Energy Programs
  • Experience with ASHRAE Level 1 and Level 2 energy audits
  • Knowledge of Energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with end-use metering instrumentation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lighting, motors, and HVAC systems

  • Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Certified Energy Auditor And/or Manager (CEA/CEM)
  • Certified Measurement Verification Professional (CMVP)
  • Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP)
  • Knowledge of energy modeling (Trane Trace, eQuest, Energy Plus, HAP, etc.)
  • Specialization in building energy usage data analysis
  • Experience in energy efficiency program implementation or energy-related markets
  • Experience with new energy technology concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Specific experience in energy management in a commercial or industrial setting

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of junior energy engineers to review and organize energy efficiency/ clean energy improvement grant applications
  • Perform field verifications to confirm the proper implementation of advanced funded projects.
