About The Position

As a Sr Employee & Corporate Giving Specialist at Southwest Airlines, you’ll help drive our charitable strategy and create meaningful impact in communities through programs that inspire Employee giving, volunteerism, and strategic partnerships. In this role, you’ll manage large-scale initiatives and events, build relationships with internal Teams and external partners, and use data to measure and communicate results. You’ll also oversee grant and volunteer platforms, ensure compliance, and craft stories that showcase Southwest’s commitment to being a trusted corporate citizen. Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX Headquarters facility during business hours. Requirements

  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
  • Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
  • Ability to propose creative ideas about a topic or program
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among unrelated events)
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in: Community Relations, Communications, or Marketing
  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be able to travel and work weekends and nights as expected for this position

Responsibilities

  • Manage Southwest Airlines program activities and associated events
  • Create impactful and inspirational stories to communicate internally and externally
  • Lead and execute large-scale programs and events
  • Analyze measurable reports and data that support community outreach programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate with external agencies and partners to meet goals and objectives
  • Ensure Employee & Corporate Giving programs are relevant and meet evolving trends/best practices
  • Help identify strategic opportunities to align & integrate Employee & Corporate Giving activities with internal Southwest departments
  • Identify opportunities to achieve Department and Company goals as directed by Executive Leadership, and provide solutions through analysis, strategic thinking, resource planning, and coordination with Leaders
  • Identify strategic opportunities, assessing and demonstrating the viability of partnerships and/or activity to determine appropriate action; and overseeing the launch of associated events
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
