About The Position

Seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power electronics. In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing power electronics systems for our cutting-edge products. You will work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to define needs/requirements for new aftermarket product solutions and lead projects with a small team of supporting engineers. Your expertise will provide training and mentorship to others.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership skills with a passion to innovate enabling precision power products for our customers most critical processes.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB® /Simulink, or SPICE (experience with ADS a plus).
  • Schematic capture and PCBA layout with EMC considerations, and system integration (experience with Altium® Designer a plus).
  • Strong expertise in power conversion technologies and controls
  • General scripting language skills; MATLAB® and or Python™.
  • Familiar with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum and network analyzers, power supplies, RF and DC fixturing
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work well in a team environment; both able to learn from and give direction and mentorship to other engineers and engineering technicians.
  • 5-10 years in related engineering field
  • RF design or application experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of vacuum science and plasma processing equipment and applications
  • Working knowledge of thin film industry (e.g. semiconductor, data storage, flat panel, advanced coatings)
  • Specific knowledge of, and experience with key customers, their equipment and applications
  • Product troubleshooting to board level
  • Master’s degree in Engineering preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and development of DC and Radio Frequency (RF) power delivery system derivatives and RF Match derivatives for industrial and semiconductor aftermarket solutions.
  • Apply a broad technical knowledge of circuit/hardware design including but not limited to DC circuits, AC to DC converters, AC power factor correction, high power transistors and rectifiers, digital and analog loop stability, RF matching networks, magnetic design, digital hardware, test and measurement systems, and electrical/safety regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct simulations, modeling, and testing to validate and optimize designs for efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, specifications, and performance goals.
  • Participate in design reviews, feasibility assessments, and risk analysis with internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Follow key engineering procedures including the ECO process, Copy Exact and Product Development Process.
  • Work closely with customers to identify opportunities and communicate progress.
  • Support on-site installation of designs at customer facilities.
  • Own post-development success and sustainment of developed products in customer applications.
