About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced electrical systems integration engineer to support the deployment of utility scale DC and AC electrical systems in conjunction with various Energy Storage System (ESS) and PV technologies. This role requires expertise and hands-on experience with ESS and power conversion systems, knowledge of electrical power systems, and familiarity with large scale system installation and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering experience, with 5-7 years PV/ESS system design or operations experience.
  • Hands on experience with SCADA systems, protective relaying equipment and programming, control system hardware and software, programming experience such as Python.
  • Expertise in ESS applications and installations.
  • High attention to detail with ability to interpret and apply complex requirements.
  • Technical project management skills
  • Skilled in commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and data reporting.
  • Practical knowledge of grid-interactive and grid-support standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support field testing and commissioning of systems in various stages of development - prototypes, new applications, production systems, as well as the development of commissioning protocols for fleet deployment.
  • Contribute to the design of integrated power and control equipment serving as the interface between ESS, battery management systems, PV systems, power converters and their connection to medium voltage power systems.
  • Provide technical liaison support with suppliers and customers to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Support management of product development/deployment timelines, milestones, documentation and processes in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Support electrical testing in laboratory and field settings on individual and integrated components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, safety, and performance.

  • Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons.
  • The annual salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000.
