Join Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big! Job Overview Key Job Responsibilities Duties: Manage Employee Health and Safety (EHS), provide technical guidance & counseling. Develop and implement policies, procedures and training for strategic priorities, meet regulatory requirements, and customer specific EHS. Monitor OHS, OSHA, MSHA, EPA & DOT regulations and interface with regulatory agencies. Lead investigations and ensure analysis, identification, documentation, and implementation of corrective actions items for incidents of loss and injuries. Monitor injury and illness incidents and manage Workers Compensation efforts to reduce costs and maintain continuous improvement. Ensure environmental compliance per regulatory requirements and develop pollution prevention initiatives. Lead facility EHS compliance and program audits. Oversee facilities completion of required inspections, reports and documentation required by government and customer specific permits and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and education or training in Occupational, Health & Safety and legislation, mining rescue and confined space
  • 3 years experience in the heavy industrial or mining sector in leading EHS programs, audits, providing technical guidance, corrective actions and monitoring; reporting for regulatory requirements; overseeing safety training; complying with governmental health and safety regulations for heavy industry and mining; and managing workers compensation claims and best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations and standards related General Industry and Mining operations (such as OSHA, OHS, MSHA, DOT, EPA)
