Our brand-new, 700,000-square-foot Asian-style food manufacturing facility in Sioux Falls, SD, is taking shape — and we're ramping up hiring for key roles. We are seeking a Senior EHS Manager to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment in our new manufacturing facility. This leader will oversee EHS programs, manage risk, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Workers' Compensation, ADA, USDA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Experience leading regulatory compliance efforts, audits, and interactions with government agencies and loss control partners.
  • Background in industrial safety, loss control, or risk management; return-to-work and claims management experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering EHS training and presentations to diverse audiences.

  • Background in industrial safety, loss control, or risk management; return-to-work and claims management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site-wide EHS compliance, maintaining required records, reports, and documentation in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies and third-party partners, leading inspections and ensuring timely, effective responses (OSHA, EPA, insurance, loss control).
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, procedures, training, and engagement initiatives to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.
  • Establish and guide Safety Committees, fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and internal audits; ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Develop and deliver supervisor and employee safety training, maintaining accurate incident and compliance records.
  • Ensure contractor and vendor EHS compliance, including environmental reporting, audits, and regulator coordination.
  • Oversee hazard identification, risk mitigation, and safety integration for new equipment, processes, chemicals, and facility operations in a startup environment.
  • Ensure appropriate safety systems, PPE, and reporting mechanisms are in place to proactively identify and address workplace hazards.

Benefits

  • The base salary range for this position is $104,625 to $174,375 annually with eligibility for a 20% annual incentive bonus that is based on organizational performance.
