For more information, please visit solera.com. The Role We are looking for a seasoned Senior Director of QA Engineering to join our Engineering team. With your focus on DevOps, continuous testing, and Shift-Left experience, you’ll be leading a team of talented QA engineers in the design, development, and delivery of automation test frameworks for our software platforms. You will guide the team and leverage existing test automation infrastructure to build reusable automation artifacts suitable for iterative agile product delivery. You will lead with a DevOps mentality, and your focus will include key areas such as streamlined test automation, test data management, and CI/CD Integration for continuous testing as quality gates. You will be asked to provide recommendations into product architecture to ensure high quality and make recommendations on reliability, security, and performance of the product. This position will report to the global VP of Quality Engineering and work across the Engineering and Product teams to establish a software quality assurance system that promotes customer satisfaction and positively impacts Solera’s financial performance. The Team This position governs a major branch in a globally centralized QA organization, managing a team of 100+ engineers spread geographically across multiple countries. You’ll also be collaborating with global QA peers covering other geographies and Centers of Excellence in North America and India. You’ll be overseeing dozens of products that cover single and multiple geographies and working with multiple stakeholders for these products spanning Engineering, Product Management, Customer Support, DevOps, and others.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related technical degree; or equivalent amount of professional development
  • Demonstrated passion for driving large‑scale quality engineering strategy, org design, and technology modernization.
  • Have 3+ years of experience as a Director of quality assurance in an agile environment including working with enterprise customers on large scale project or have 1+ years professional experience as a Senior Director of quality assurance in an agile environment managing a large multi-national team.
  • More than 18 years career experience in the career field
  • Proven track record in leading enterprise QA transformation, including architecture of automation platforms, quality governance, tooling ecosystems, and CI/CD quality integration.
  • Experience with AI/ML-driven testing platforms and predictive analytics.
  • Deep expertise in QA methodologies, quality governance models, engineering practices, and enterprise-scale quality management.
  • Excellent analytical, research, documentation, project planning and implementation skills
  • Impeccable skills to communicate effectively cross-functionally across various teams, organizations, and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering effort.
  • Strong ability to build and execute multi‑year quality engineering roadmaps that align with business and technology strategy.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale quality transformation initiatives (automation modernization, tooling consolidation, shift‑left adoption, AI‑driven quality).
  • Strong background in data‑driven quality decisions using enterprise dashboards, KPIs, health indicators, telemetry, and predictive analytics.
  • Ability to influence cross‑functional leadership (Engineering, Product, DevOps, Architecture, Security, PMO) to align outcomes across the organization.
  • Experience leading organizational change, scaling teams through growth, and maturing processes across distributed and cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success integrating AI/ML into quality pipelines for productivity improvement, defect prediction, test prioritization, analytics, and automation acceleration.
  • Are self-motivated and excellent problems-solvers
  • Ability to adapt and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques
  • Effectively lead and manage change within their area of responsibility as well as across the business
  • Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, and TestNG

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for defining and governing enterprise QA strategy, organizational structure, delivery model, and multi‑product execution.
  • Define the QA operating model, organizational design, and leadership structure to enable scale, efficiency, and high‑quality delivery across multiple product portfolios.
  • Define enterprise QA processes, governance, standards, and quality gates integrated into CI/CD and release engineering.
  • Define and govern enterprise QA operating models across multiple products, platforms, and business domains.
  • Champion and operationalize enterprise AI/ML‑driven quality platforms to accelerate automation, predict risk, and optimize delivery cycles. Lead organizational readiness for AI-first quality engineering transformation.
  • Drive cross‑portfolio quality transformation initiatives, including modernization of tooling, frameworks, automation, and test data platforms
  • Establish enterprise-wide quality KPIs, dashboards, and health metrics to drive data‑driven decisions at executive levels.
  • Synthesize and communicate executive‑level quality insights, risks, and readiness assessments to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, and Engineering VPs to align quality strategy with business goals and technology roadmap.
  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for enterprise automation and testing platforms; ensure architectural alignment and long‑term technology choices.
  • Think strategically to help drive features and services for short and long-term growth
  • Provide organizational leadership across the full SDLC, ensuring quality is embedded from product conception through deployment and production monitoring.
  • Bring a can-do attitude, high energy, and effectiveness at managing relationships (up, down, across)
  • Serve as the executive QA leader partnering with Engineering, Product, SRE, and Architecture leaders to influence product quality and release strategy.
  • Own enterprise quality risk management, escalation frameworks, and cross‑product dependency management.
  • Develop leadership capability, elevate team maturity, and drive cross‑functional alignment across Product, Engineering, DevOps, and PMO.
  • Create a fun, fast paced, motivating, and rewarding environment for their teams and the organization
  • Build and scale high‑performing global QA organizations, including hiring strategy, talent development, succession planning, and culture building.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align QA initiatives with business objectives and delivery timelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and QA tool strategies for cost optimization and efficiency.
