Job Description Provides divisional leadership for establishing, governing, and continuously improving the customer project and portfolio management operating model across the Drug Substance Division. Focused on enabling predictable execution, enterprise transparency, and a differentiated customer experience through strong governance, disciplined decision-making, and cross-functional alignment. Operates in a highly matrixed environment, providing functional leadership to site PPM organizations and influencing senior leaders across Operations, Quality, Finance, and Commercial. Drives results with integrity, fosters collaboration, and champions continuous improvement at scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 12+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical, CDMO, or regulated manufacturing environments
• Experience designing and leading portfolio and governance operating models
• Success leading matrixed, multi-site organizations
• Strong executive presence, communication, and influence skills
• Financial and operational acumen across complex portfolios
• Ability to travel 25% - domestic and international

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree and experience in CDMO environments
• Experience in one or more of the following areas desired Biopharmaceutical operations, governance frameworks, and customer experience management

Responsibilities

• Establish and improve a scalable, division-wide PPM governance framework
• Define and standardize methodologies, tools, metrics, and performance expectations
• Ensure consistent application of phase-gate governance, risk management, and change control
• Lead executive portfolio and governance forums
• Drive operational excellence by increasing portfolio visibility, predictability, and throughput
• Provide enterprise-level insight into program health, capacity, risk, and financial outlook
• Partner with Finance, Commercial, and Operations leaders
• Establish and lead the customer experience governance model
• Own and manage above-site escalation pathways in partnership with commercial
• Provide functional leadership and matrix oversight to site-level PPM leaders
• Collaborate with PPM leaders across Pharma Services and Thermo Fisher
• Lead with integrity, inclusion, and accountability

• The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $212,000.00–$282,600.00.
