About The Position

Director of Routing and Fleet Position Summary:The Sr. Director, Routing & Fleet, is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing the future Route-to-Market (RTM) strategy across the DSD network. This leader will oversee routing optimization, fleet operations, and field readiness, ensuring delivery excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance. The role will play a critical part in shaping how KDP delivers to customers-integrating routing, fleet, and field execution into one cohesive operating model. Key Responsibilities:Strategic LeadershipDefine and lead the future route-to-market strategy, aligning routing, delivery, and fleet assets to business goals.Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, and IT to ensure routing effectiveness and customer service excellence.Drive decision-making clarity and alignment across DSD Operations by establishing clear ownership and accountability.Routing OptimizationOversee national routing design and continuous improvement processes.Implement field-first routing performance metrics, balancing service levels, cost, and productivity.Lead deployment and governance of routing standards, service principles, and calendar cadence.Fleet OperationsDevelop and execute a comprehensive fleet strategy aligned to RTM needs, ensuring optimal asset mix, utilization, and lifecycle management.Partner with Safety and Compliance to strengthen CSA, DOT, and regulatory adherence.Oversee successful onboarding and optimization of the new fleet maintenance system (Cetaris), ensuring field training and adoption.Collaborate with Real Estate and Finance to support fleet infrastructure planning and capital prioritization.Organizational LeadershipLead and develop a diverse team of senior managers, managers, and analysts across routing and fleet functions.Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and performance accountability across teams.Serve as a key member of the DSD Ops Leadership Team, contributing to overall strategy and execution priorities.Key Competencies:Strategic Systems Thinker - Able to connect complex routing, fleet, and logistics systems into one operating vision.Operational Leadership - Expert in DSD operations, routing technologies, fleet management, and DOT compliance.Change Leadership - Proven ability to lead transformation and drive adoption of new systems and processes.Collaborative Influence - Strong ability to partner cross-functionally and align stakeholders on shared goals.Results Orientation - Consistently delivers measurable improvements in service, cost, and efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in DSD, logistics, or transportation leadership, with deep experience in routing optimization and fleet operations.
  • Experience leading multi-site or enterprise-scale teams through transformation and change.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Descartes, Omnitracs, Cetaris, or comparable routing/fleet management software.
