About The Position

As the Senior Director of Brand & Communications, you’ll be accountable for defining and activating CEA CAPA’s voice, narrative, and visual identity across all internal and external touchpoints. You will ensure the brand is clear, consistent, and mission-driven—while also aligned to business priorities, growth objectives, and institutional credibility. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Senior Director leads brand strategy, visual identity, messaging and positioning, content strategy, internal communications, public relations, and executive communications. This leader shapes enterprise-level storytelling across audiences and channels, partners closely with Marketing, Digital, Product, Enrollment, and external agencies, and drives measurable impact on brand health, reputation, engagement, and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive communications experience with demonstrated impact on organizational goals.
  • Proven success leading internal and external communications strategies and execution.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats and audiences.
  • Leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to deliver under tight deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Crisis communications and media relations expertise.
  • International or cross‑cultural communications experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve CEA CAPA’s brand strategy—including value proposition, messaging architecture, positioning, and visual identity.
  • Establish brand standards and ensure consistency across digital, print, events, and partner communications.
  • Lead brand research and audience insights to inform ongoing evolution.
  • Guide product and program messaging that builds trust with students, families, institutions, and partners.
  • Oversee development of high-impact creative assets (campaigns, content, video, templates, collateral) that drive engagement, enrollment, and partner confidence.
  • Set creative direction and approve briefs, concepts, and final deliverables to ensure alignment with brand strategy and business objectives.
  • Lead internal communications to engage and align our global teams.
  • Advise executive leadership on messaging, change communication, and sensitive organizational updates.
  • Shape external storytelling across earned, owned, and shared channels (press, thought leadership, blogs, newsletters, case studies).
  • Support awards, recognition, and visibility opportunities.
  • Manage PR partners and media relationships.
  • Lead crisis and issues communications to protect and strengthen organizational reputation.
  • Define events and speaking strategy in partnership with Marketing, Product, Enrollment, and Institutional teams to advance brand credibility and engagement.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality brand presence across conferences, events, webinars, and experiential touchpoints for student and partner audiences.
  • Build and lead a high-performing brand and communications team.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to ensure brand and communications efforts support enterprise priorities.
  • Establish goals, KPIs, and operating rhythms that demonstrate impact and drive continuous improvement.
