About The Position

The Senior Director, Finance will lead the optimization and governance of transaction-based financial workflows across Commercial Services. This individual will leverage their financial modeling skills, business acumen, leadership, curiosity, and communication skills to provide insights and clarity around financial performance and projections. This is a high impact role focused on operational value creation. The ideal candidate will be able to take a strategic view of the Verra Mobility Commercial Services Organization and provide analysis and recommendations at an executive level to maximize shareholder value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 10 years or more of progressively increasing responsibility in finance
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, SQL skills highly preferred
  • Individuals must be able to take initiative, draw conclusions, and own outcomes
  • Ability to develop complex financial models but summarize key metrics and conclusions in an executive manner
  • A sense of urgency with strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to lead projects, challenge assumptions, and achieve positive results
  • High-energy, passionate finance professional with a hands-on mentality

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial performance of transaction-based operational flows, including payment processing, merchant economics, refunds, and external partner payments
  • Lead strategy and oversight of merchant processing relationships, fee structures, interchange optimization, and settlement flows
  • Continuously evaluate processor performance, pricing models, and contract terms to maximize economics
  • Implement controls and analytics to monitor transaction costs, chargebacks, and network fees
  • Identify and capture margin enhancement opportunities embedded in operational processes
  • Drive initiatives to minimize credit losses and revenue leakage across the transaction lifecycle
  • Design operational and analytical controls to improve recoverability and reduce preventable write-offs
  • Partner cross-functionally to refine collection strategies and dispute resolution workflows
  • Oversee financial workflows associated with payments to external authorities and partners
  • Optimize timing, payment methods, and funding strategies to maximize rebates, incentives, and working capital efficiency
  • Ensure accuracy of externally sourced rate structures within internal systems to prevent margin erosion
  • Develop KPIs and build reporting infrastructure to provide transparency into transaction-level economics and surface leakage, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities
  • Act as the financial steward within Operations, bridging Finance, Product, Engineering, and external partners
  • Translate complex transaction economics into actionable operational decisions
