About The Position

The senior director of field HR and labor is responsible for leading a team of HR generalists and partnering effectively with HR and business management and employees to drive results through effective management and implementation of HR projects, consultation, and activities supporting the fossil and nuclear generation, and their support organizations. This position is responsible for the long-term strategic direction, execution, and performance of HR initiatives for the assigned region and for the overall labor relations strategy for the region, including collective bargaining and the labor-management relationship.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of professional HR experience at high-performing organizations, including five (5) or more years leading an HR team
  • Five (5) or more years of labor relations experience, including in a lead role in collective bargaining
  • Demonstrated success and experience in consulting on and driving HR initiatives
  • Strong working knowledge of labor and employment laws
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Competence in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
  • Minimum education is HS Diploma or equivalency

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as SPHR or PHR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the HR field function to effectively support business priorities within assigned region
  • Lead and develop HR field team to be trusted advisors and collaborative business partners on people management, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, employee relations, labor relations, talent development and retention, and other HR practices and policies
  • Develop and execute strategies for collective bargaining and ongoing labor relations that support business needs and ensure a reliable, motivated, and fairly compensated workforce
  • Cultivate relationships with internal clients to promote good decision making and support consistent policies and processes across the fleet, ensuring compliance with applicable workplace laws and requirements
  • Exhibit and support leadership and management principles reflecting company core values to ensure overall business success
  • Support and promote a culture of fairness and inclusion
