The Role The Sr. Director of Engineering is responsible for ensuring the quality of team deliverables, refining processes, and leading efficiency improvements. This role also involves strategic planning, talent management, budget oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to support the organization's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly review and refine processes to minimize errors and ensure adherence to best practices. Teams must provide evidence of process compliance.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of organizational efficiency and effectiveness, addressing structural considerations and performance concerns as needed.
  • Lead the team in enhancing effectiveness through both top-down initiatives and encouraging team-driven improvements.
  • Maintain comprehensive awareness of all ongoing projects within the organization and effectively communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the engineering team in interactions with other business units, including regular reviews with PM and Technical Support.
  • Actively coach teams through business changes, advocating for the team's best interests within the broader business context.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department, aligning with the overall business goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to explore new technologies and methodologies.
  • Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top engineering talent, ensuring the team has the skills and resources needed to succeed.
  • Manage the engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive cross-functional initiatives and support the overall growth and success of the organization.
