About The Position

The Senior Director of Engineering will lead engineering alignment and delivery for enterprise imaging products across both cloud and on-premises deployment models. This role focuses on bringing teams and platforms (existing and acquired through M&A) together in a pragmatic way—standardizing delivery practices where needed, eliminating bottlenecks across dependencies, and maintaining strong momentum on the product roadmap. The leader will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Security/Privacy, Quality/Regulatory, and Operations to deliver predictable outcomes with high quality and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering managers and teams.
  • Experience delivering enterprise software across cloud and on-prem deployment models (release management, deployments/upgrades, customer operations).
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-team initiatives that require integrating systems, processes, and delivery execution.
  • Strong technical fluency in modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automation, observability, reliability, and secure development).
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare IT and/or imaging systems, including PACS and/or VNA solutions.
  • Familiarity with interoperability standards and integration concepts (e.g., DICOM , HL7/FHIR concepts, APIs and identity patterns).
  • Experience with M&A integration planning and/or technical due diligence.
  • Experience leading distributed global teams and working effectively in matrixed environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare security and privacy expectations and regulated software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

  • Define an integration plan for engineering processes, tooling, and delivery cadence that improves consistency without adding unnecessary overhead.
  • Lead cross-team alignment and execution across multiple engineering groups delivering cloud and on-prem releases.
  • Partner with Product and Architecture to translate priorities into realistic roadmaps, milestones, and release plans.
  • Drive dependency management across teams; identify risks early, remove roadblocks, and escalate with clear options and recommendations.
  • Promote consistent engineering quality practices (test strategy, release readiness criteria, defect management) and ensure deliverables meet expectations.
  • Ensure security, privacy, and compliance considerations are embedded in delivery practices (e.g., HIPAA/GDPR where applicable).
  • Establish a practical operating rhythm for status, risk/issue review, and release readiness reporting to leadership.
  • Lead and develop engineering leaders and teams through change; support hiring and talent development as needed.
