HUMANNew York, NY

About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on, globally minded Senior Director of DevOps to lead and evolve the DevOps function across both our Enterprise and Media product lines. Today, these teams operate separately; this role will bring them together into a unified organization that delivers world-class reliability, performance, automation, and scale. You’ll oversee ~15 people (with ~5 direct reports), including DevOps Leads in multiple regions. You’ll set the technical direction, elevate our operational excellence, modernize infrastructure, and partner closely with Engineering to ensure we can support continued rapid growth. This is a player–coach role: you won’t be writing code day to day, but you must have the depth to dive into incidents, guide complex troubleshooting, and make strong architectural decisions when it matters. If you thrive in high-scale environments, enjoy leading sharp engineers, and love building resilient systems that support products used by some of the biggest enterprises in the world, this is a chance to have a real impact.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a DevOps or Infrastructure leadership role
  • Demonstrated success managing high-scale, real-time cloud environments.
  • Experience leading global teams and operating across multiple time zones.
  • Proven ability to unify disparate functions into a cohesive, high-performing organization.
  • Hands-on technical background with the ability to meaningfully contribute during incidents and architectural discussions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and distributed systems.
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and modern DevOps tooling.
  • Familiarity with large-scale data systems such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Druid, Cassandra, Parquet, HBase, etc.
  • Experience with streaming or messaging frameworks (Kafka, Kinesis).
  • Ability to script/code and work across a wide range of open-source technologies.
  • Understanding of production security, FinOps principles, observability, and high-availability system design.
  • Deep sense of ownership; bias toward clarity, iteration, and continuous improvement.
  • Thrives in collaborative, fast-moving engineering environments.
  • Able to zoom into technical details and back out to long-term strategy effortlessly.
  • Communicates clearly and works well across functional and geographic boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a unified global DevOps organization across Enterprise and Media teams.
  • Develop and execute a long-term DevOps strategy aligned with our engineering and product roadmap.
  • Mentor and grow DevOps Leads and ICs; create a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish best-in-class DevOps practices, tooling, and processes across regions.
  • Own the reliability, scalability, and performance of globally distributed, real-time systems that process trillions of events per month.
  • Lead modernization efforts across our infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and observability stack.
  • Partner with Engineering on architectural decisions related to distributed systems, data movement, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during escalations — guiding root-cause analysis and incident response with technical depth.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of high-scale infrastructure in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.).
  • Scale tooling, processes, and automation to support rapid product innovation — including agentic AI–driven capabilities.
  • Drive improvements in cost efficiency, reliability, deployment velocity, and production security.
  • Champion infrastructure-as-code, testing best practices, and zero-downtime deployment methodologies.
  • Partner with Engineering, SRE, Security, Product, and Data teams to ensure DevOps alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with leaders across Tel Aviv, London, and the US to create a seamless global operating model.
  • Foster transparent communication and joint problem solving across R&D.
  • Occasional travel will be required to collaborate in person with global team members
