The (Sr.) Director, Corporate Data Services is responsible for overseeing three departments that work with PJM's business and technical stakeholders to coordinate and drive the organization's data and analytics initiatives, ensuring they deliver expected business value. Specific accountability areas include establishing processes and tools, maintaining appropriate staffing levels of employees and contractors, and ensuring high standards of customer service and operational excellence across all departments. The departments include Corporate Data Management, Data Confidentiality, and Analytic Support. Corporate Data Management Department Functions within Corporate Data Management include the following: Enterprise-Wide Data Governance With data ownership distributed across the organization (by department, function, or business process), there is a critical need to coordinate data ownership activities for consistency and leverage. The Corporate Data Management Department leads this coordination through an enterprise-wide Data Governance Program that: Establishes a Data Management Steering Committee composed of senior leaders who set policy and serve as a decision-making body when subordinate teams (such as employee-led Data Domain Councils and Data Stewards) need support in resolving data ownership or governance issues. Defines policies and standards for how data owners carry out their responsibilities, including system design, data modeling, and communication of data decisions both laterally (to peer data owners) and upward (to the steering committee). Collaborates with leadership across the organization to identify business needs and implement data governance and stewardship capabilities that meet those needs. Assists data owners in interpreting policies to ensure clarity and consistency in implementation. Embeds data governance and stewardship processes into appropriate enterprise processes. Identifies new or modified systems early in their lifecycle to ensure they are designed to support enterprise needs-so data remains available for downstream analytics and as a corporate asset for future business questions. Implements and supports data governance technologies, on-premises or in the cloud, to advance the program, enhance customer experience, and maintain operational excellence. Master Data Management Responsible for the policies, processes, tools, and technologies that establish and maintain a Master Data Management (MDM) program for corporate use. Data Confidentiality Department The Data Confidentiality Department is responsible for the following: Data Classification Establishes and maintains internal data classification policies and practices. Provides annual compliance training input and maintains templates related to data classification. Advises PJM Legal and other internal stakeholders on the classification of member-confidential and market-sensitive data. Disclosure Prevention Establishes a Disclosure Prevention Policy and supporting practices to help each PJM department maintain disclosure prevention plans for its data. Identifies and implements best practices, provides training, and ensures annual reviews of departmental data protection plans for currency and effectiveness. Collaborates with the Enterprise Information Management Steering Committee (EIM) to set long-term strategy and corporate policy positions. Analytic Support Department The Analytic Support Department is responsible for the following: Data and Analytics Program Support Works in coordination with Corporate Data Management and IT sponsors to oversee PJM's Data and Analytics Program, ensuring it meets its objectives. Provides analytical system support by establishing the necessary IT and business functions for effective program delivery. Promotes enterprise-level best practices for analytics. Establishes appropriate functional processes and staffing to execute assigned responsibilities, including ongoing operations and support. Maintains ownership of the primary public data platform, Data Miner, ensuring its ongoing support, maintenance, and expansion through capital projects. Ensures compliance with applicable requirements for data postings via the Data Miner platform. Strategic Leadership The (Sr.) Director, Corporate Data Services develops and maintains PJM's data strategy, promoting ongoing data governance, data protection, analytic support, and related strategic initiatives that enable PJM to maximize the value of data as a corporate asset-supporting long-term strategic goals and the organization's mission.
