Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications: Position Summary: PayPal is seeking a proven Corporate Development leader to focus on our inorganic growth agenda, specifically around M&A strategy and post‑close M&A integration. This Senior Director will report directly to PayPal’s VP and Global Head of Corporate Development and will own both M&A strategy and M&A integration. This role will partner closely with Business Units leaders as well as Strategy, Product, Technology, and other Functional teams to develop inorganic strategies and to deliver measurable post-M&A integration outcomes. This Senior Director will partner with our Corporate Strategy team in early-stage strategy conversations and then with other Corporate Development leaders on deal origination and execution efforts. This Senior Director will oversee a team managing deal due diligence efforts in partnership with other M&A Functional partners as well as drive deal integration planning and post-deal close integration workstreams. The candidate must have hands‑on M&A integration leadership experience in a corporate setting as well as corporate strategy experience and be comfortable moving between executive-level strategy discussions and day‑to‑day diligence and integration execution. As such, M&A integration leadership experience in a large, complex, global company - combined with management consulting experience - is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years total experience in Corporate Development / M&A, including 5+ years leading post‑close integration in a corporate setting with direct accountability for synergy delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership of end‑to‑end integration/disintegration transactions for mid‑ to large‑scale acquisitions and divestments in technology/fintech/payments.
  • Proven cross‑functional leadership across Product, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Legal, HR, Finance, and GTM.
  • Track record presenting to and influencing C‑suite and boards, driving crisp decisions under time pressure.
  • People leadership experience: building teams, mentoring, and developing talent.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to convert thesis into executable roadmaps.
  • Executive presence, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
  • Analytical rigor; comfort with ambiguity; bias for action and measurable outcomes.
  • Program leadership: IMO design, dependency/risk management, and change management.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; strong executive materials.
  • High integrity and sound judgment with confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • In‑house Corporate Development leadership in payments/fintech or two‑sided network/marketplace businesses; or top‑tier M&A consulting background plus corporate integration leadership.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments relevant to payments and fintech (e.g., data privacy, KYC/AML, licensing considerations) and post‑close commitments.
  • Experience integrating product/platform capabilities (APIs, data migration, identity/security) and standing up operating models and governance for combined businesses.
  • MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, or related field.

  • Prepare and present inorganic strategy presentations & memos to senior leadership.
  • Stand up and run the Integration Management Office (IMO) governance: workstream charters, interdependencies, risk logs, decision forums, KPIs/OKRs, and budget tracking.
  • Drive customer, merchant, and platform integration plans (e.g., product/roadmap alignment, data migration, API/tech stack integration, sales coverage, brand/communications, talent & culture, operating model).
  • Ensure robust change management, internal/external communications, legal/regulatory/antitrust commitments, and Day‑1/Day‑2 compliance (incl. data privacy, InfoSec, KYC/AML implications as applicable).
  • Advise and influence PayPal executives to resolve complex strategic and integration decisions.
  • Translate diligence and integration insights into clear executive choices, trade‑offs, and recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team.
  • Elevate Corporate Development’s operating model, templates, and playbooks across diligence and integration.
