Your Impact We are looking for a Director of Strategy and M&A who will lead Strategy and M&A activity across Particle Measuring Systems, applying their expertise to support the achievement of team and company goals and deliver innovative, reliable solutions. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and maintain a commitment to professional excellence, quality and continuous improvement. The Role We are seeking a Director of Strategy & M&A to drive creation and operationalization of enterprise strategy and execution of the inorganic growth strategy. This role will play a central part in value creation, partnering with executive leadership to design strategy and identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions that accelerate growth, expand capabilities, and enhance EBITDA. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of strategic rigor, financial discipline, and transaction execution, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred
  • 8–12+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategy consulting
  • Demonstrated experience executing M&A transactions, including diligence and valuation
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a focus on returns, EBITDA impact, and integration economics
  • Comfortable operating with limited resources, tight timelines, and high accountability

  • Experience in industrial technology, life sciences, semiconductor, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Value-Driven Corporate Strategy Lead development of PMS’s long-term strategy aligned with value creation objectives
  • Conduct market, competitive, and portfolio analyses to identify high-return growth opportunities
  • Translate strategy into clear investment theses, operating priorities, and measurable outcomes
  • Support annual strategic planning, budgeting, and long-range planning processes
  • M&A Execution & Portfolio Expansion Build and actively manage a prioritized M&A pipeline aligned with strategic and financial return criteria
  • Own the end-to-end M&A process, including: Target screening and strategic rationale Financial modeling, valuation, and returns-analysis Coordination of cross-functional diligence Deal structuring and negotiation support
  • Ensure all transactions meet risk-adjusted return thresholds and align with EBITDA growth and multiple expansion goals
  • Integration Planning & Execution Lead pre-close integration planning to ensure clear value creation objectives, synergy targets, and execution roadmaps are established
  • Partner with functional leaders (Finance, Operations, Commercial, R&D, Quality, IT, HR) to define integration priorities, timelines, and ownership
  • Support Day 1 readiness and early post-close execution to minimize disruption and accelerate value capture
  • Track and report on integration progress, synergy realization, and performance vs. investment thesis
  • Identify integration risks early and drive mitigation actions to protect deal economics
  • Sponsor & Stakeholder Engagement Prepare investment memos, Board materials, and transaction updates for executive leadership and investors
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, Commercial, R&D, and Quality teams to drive execution
  • Market & Performance Insight Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions
  • Evaluate portfolio performance and identify opportunities for optimization, divestiture, or reinvestment
  • Support partnerships, tuck-ins, and other inorganic growth structures as appropriate
  • Continuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety
