About The Position

The Senior Director, Battery Management Systems (BMS) is responsible for leading the strategy, development, validation, and deployment of advanced BMS and power distribution architecture across all ONE battery platforms. This role drives the integration of hardware, software, mechanical, controls, and safety systems to ensure optimal battery performance, longevity, and compliance with industry and energy storage standards. This leader will build and scale a high-performing BMS organization, establish robust engineering processes, and partner cross-functionally to deliver production-ready systems that meet aggressive program timelines and quality expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field required
  • 12+ years of experience in battery systems, automotive systems, or embedded systems engineering
  • 5+ years in leadership roles managing engineering teams and complex programs
  • Proven experience leading BMS and PDU development in EV, battery, or energy storage industries
  • Experience bringing products from concept through production launch
  • Deep knowledge of: BMS architectures (centralized, distributed)
  • Deep knowledge of: HV Power distribution systems
  • Deep knowledge of: Real time controller electronic circuit design (MCU, power supplies, IO devices, …)
  • Deep knowledge of: Battery systems and electrochemistry fundamentals
  • Deep knowledge of: Embedded systems and controls
  • Deep knowledge of: State estimation algorithms (SOC, SOH, SOP)
  • Deep knowledge of: Functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Deep knowledge of: CAN/LIN communication protocols
  • Experience with HIL/SIL testing, model-based development, and software validation
