About The Position

We are seeking a Sr Director Product– Global Rental Systems to lead the product vision, strategy, and transformation of Hertz’s core rental platforms powering all brands, countries, and franchise operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining the future-state rental ecosystem across all brands and franchise channels. You will drive platform modernization while balancing operational excellence, regulatory complexity, business growth, customer experience and global scalability. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, operations, and technology, influencing executive stakeholders and leading senior product managers across multiple domains. You will define how Hertz evolves its rental systems from legacy platforms into modular, API-driven, globally configurable, high-availability products, partnering with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Fleet, Revenue Management, and Franchise leaders to drive: End-to-end rental lifecycle transformation Multi-brand harmonization Country-specific configuration models Operational resiliency (including offline / degraded-mode operations) You will own long-term roadmap strategy while ensuring near-term execution excellence.

Requirements

15+ years of Product Management experience
Experience leading complex, transactional enterprise platforms
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Experience working across globally distributed teams
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience shipping successful consumer facing products: including defining outcome-driven product roadmaps, prioritizing competing requests and managing backlogs.
Demonstrated strength in metrics driven execution.
Experience with agile development methods and tools
Experience executing user research
Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
Experience with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Figma.

Nice To Haves

Experience in travel, retail, hospitality, mobility, or high-scale operational environments preferred
Specific experience in vehicle rental, used vehicle markets or travel services is desirable.

Responsibilities

Define and prioritize product features that will enable the growth and scale of Hertz’s initiatives, which is one of the major priorities of the business.
Execute against long-term product roadmap, coordinating with operations, engineering, design, and data science teams both domestically and internationally.
Work closely with the strategy, operations, and go to market teams to ensure there is a consistent and holistic approach from pilot to scaled solutions.
Communicate across constituencies: within cross-functional team, broadly within Hertz internally and external to Hertz (partners, investors, candidates, etc.)
Ensure that we have a consistent customer focus in our research, planning and decision making
Articulate and systematically test product hypotheses
Navigate complex decision-making using product data and key performance indicators
Identify and implement metrics for estimating the impact of changes to the existing risk management platforms and tools.
Define and own the global product vision and strategy for rental systems
Lead a team of Senior Product Managers and Product Managers
Influence executive stakeholders and drive alignment across corporate and franchise groups
Champion a data-driven, hypothesis-led product culture
Lead quarterly planning and prioritization processes
