Your Impact The Sr Director, Digital Category Optimization leads a team that is responsible for optimizing the customer purchase path on Lowes.com. ​This role partners closely with merchandising senior leadership to understand key merchandising strategies and objectives and uses online behavioral, data-driven insights and industry benchmarking to identify the most impactful opportunities across merchandising categories to improve the customer experience. The Sr Director is focused on improving customer satisfaction, increasing traffic and sales, and improving conversion while driving an integrated omnichannel experience. This role leads a team that drives an integrated look and feel across channels and provide recommendations regarding product mix and top selling products through review and analysis of sales history and gross margin. The Sr Director leads a large team focused on category and brand strategy for an assigned business unit of 4-5 merchandising divisions (MDVs) driving $2-$6B annually, composed of directors, managers and individual contributor analysts and is responsible for inspiring, managing and developing a top performing team to drive efficiency for the customer and deliver revenue growth. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 12 years of relevant experience, including 8 years of experience in ecommerce, omnichannel merchandising/marketing, and/or brand/product management
  • 7-10 years of people leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead a group of directors and their teams, who drive the digital experience strategy for their assigned MDVs, ranging from $2M-$6B annually, through the aggregation of insights, competitive intelligence and data-driven recommendations
  • Lead efforts to prioritize and deliver an ongoing comprehensive strategy for an online portfolio of brands
  • Partner with strategic suppliers and merchants to drive a best-in-class online customer experience that grows the brand’s business on Lowes.com by driving online traffic, increasing conversion and growing sales
  • Communicate and present regularly with enterprise executives (VP to SVP) to develop comprehensive digital merchandising strategies and objectives that align to the omni enterprise strategy
  • Gain alignment with senior leadership across the organization to best drive enterprise strategy and deliver on business goals and commitments
  • Lead category and brand teams that analyze and leverage customer information and behaviors and competitive benchmarking to identify areas necessary to improve the customer research/shopping experience
  • Manage the process to identify opportunities to improve taxonomy, purchase path (search and navigation), data content, search engine optimization and post-transaction results through tactical execution
  • Build, develop and lead a team of directors, including preparing them for growth opportunities and advancement while recruiting, selecting and hiring talent
  • Maintain and inspire a highly skilled and engaged team of 60-100 brand and category analysts with a focus on clear and consistent communication around company objectives, responsibilities and expectations
  • Examine and streamline workflows and processes within the team to increase efficiency
  • Develop measurable departmental goals for the team to benchmark growth against; set targets for success at each level and cultivate talent for growth within the team
