About The Position

We are looking for a talented SR Dev Technician, Bevel Gear to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI Here are five impactful ways you’ll contribute in this role: Champion safety and environmental responsibility by identifying hazards, stopping unsafe work, and promoting a culture of interdependence—ensuring compliance with HSE standards and minimizing environmental impact. Deliver exceptional quality and reliability through skilled craftsmanship, accurate troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, while providing feedback to improve systems and reduce cost or quality risks. Lead and support others by acting as a formal resource, coordinating team activities, and sharing expertise to strengthen overall team capability and performance. Drive operational efficiency by performing and documenting preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, solving manufacturing constraints, and implementing process improvements that boost productivity. Foster collaboration and continuous improvement by engaging in TPM initiatives, communicating effectively across teams, and contributing ideas that enhance safety, quality, material flow, and employee development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
  • Experience in gear manufacturing required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and interpret specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical Engineering or Technical degree required.
  • Familiar with programming & operation of gear equipment
  • Gear design experience preferred.

  • Understand gear geometry, gear manufacturing and gear quality procedures.
  • Expediting part processing through internal and external sources.
  • Program management and scheduling.
  • Coordination of all gear development lab activities.
  • Develop and implement best practices.
  • Maintain Best in Class House Keeping practices.
  • Ensuring on time delivery of all program objectives.
  • Must be able to use various computer systems and programs as necessary to complete job functions.
  • Be able to work extra hours as necessary.
  • Work closely with Gear Developers and Gear Engineers.
  • Be able to write detailed technical reports.
  • Have a positive attitude, quick learner and a team player with diverse ideas and viewpoints.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
