Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing) & 5 yrs exp designing BIW structures & sheet metal parts
- 5 yrs exp using CATIA V5 in auto design
- exp in DFM/DFA in Sheet Metal & Welding assemblies is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead & support auto product development & engineering activities for BIW sheet metal components by investigating feasibility, design using CATIA, conduct layout review, drawing creation & collaborate w/functional depts.
- Create 3D & 2D concepts & eng specs for BIW components such as A/B/C/D Pillars, Dash, Frame Rails, Roof, Floor Crossmembers, Quarter Panels, etc. that meet cost, delivery, accuracy & quality targets.
- Lead transition from task-based design activities to small-scale projects w/in discipline by monitoring & tracking progress of projs & handle any issues that arise.
- Mentor & train other associates.
