About The Position

The Senior Dedicated Account Leader oversees customer shipments and account operations, including driver management, load planning, and customer service. This role leads and develops drivers to ensure safety, service, and operational efficiency while minimizing risk, claims, and losses. This position is responsible for aligning daily operations with business goals by optimizing staffing, equipment, and dispatch plans to maximize performance and control costs. The Sr. Dedicated Account Leader plays a key role in driving profitability, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to influence others in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong, demonstrated leadership capabilities, includes building effective teams.
  • Ability to resolve issues without follow up
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Effectively copes with change and is energized by tough challenges.
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities and timely decision making. Identifies options including the short and long-term impact on business operations.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office Suite programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation & Logistics preferred.
  • 2-3 years experience as an Account Manager or Customer Service Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and retain drivers and support staff
  • Plan and dispatch dedicated fleet operations
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Generate reports and analyzes dedicated contract carriage (DCC) load weight, miles driven, and back haul (i.e., return trip) revenue to maximize equipment usage.
  • Manage P&L components including billing, payroll, and expense controls
  • Resolve service issues (delays, damages, documentation, etc.)
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and fleet readiness
  • Oversee driver training, certifications, and development plans
  • Provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards
  • Negotiates LTL, TL, and Intermodal rates with outside carriers and evaluates and selects carriers, methods of transport, and routes to provide cost-effective transportation and maintain high levels of service.
  • Review invoices, expenses, and vendor payments for accuracy and timeliness
  • Conduct customer reviews and support account growth and retention
  • Monitors account performance and the month-end close, reviews vendor costs, and negotiates vendor rates to ensure monthly profitability goals are met, as well as communicates customer business needs to employees to ensure job responsibilities and customer impact are understood and to share updates on new services and operational objectives.
  • May upgrade and purchase new materials and trailers to replace and repair materials and reduce service failures.
  • Provide cross-functional support as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
