The Enterprise Information Security (EIS) team is responsible for cybersecurity across our organization. We support our business and members by reducing risk, rapidly responding to threats, focusing on business resiliency and securing new acquisitions. The Enterprise Security and Resilience Office (ESRO) is the central enterprise security organization responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information across UnitedHealth Group, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare. ESRO sets enterprise security direction and partners with technology, business, and acquired entities to reduce cyber risk and improve resilience at scale. The Technical Security Project Manager for Mergers & Acquisitions (ESRO) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking security initiatives, ensuring workstreams progress as expected, dependencies are managed, and risks are surfaced early. The role is delivery focused and technical in nature, working across multiple security workstreams under the direction of senior program leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with various project management methodologies (Scrum/Agile)
  • 3+ years of experience with Cybersecurity or IT
  • Proven solid organizational and coordination skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and program leadership
  • Experience operating in complex, fast moving environments with shifting priorities

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day execution of assigned security projects and workstreams within the M&A security program
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and task tracking across multiple initiatives
  • Coordinate technical activities across security, IT, engineering, and acquired entity teams
  • Track milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure timely execution
  • Serve as a technical project coordination point between program leadership and delivery teams
  • Support implementation of enterprise security standards by aligning tasks, owners, and timelines
  • Identify execution risks, blockers, and technical dependencies and escalate as needed
  • Assist with documentation, evidence tracking, and readiness artifacts required for integration
  • Provide clear, accurate project level status updates to program leadership
  • Maintain RAID logs, action item tracking, and workstream level metrics
  • Support KPI tracking and reporting by ensuring data quality and timely updates
  • Work closely with security solution engineers and program managers to support program level objectives
  • Partner with technical teams and acquired entities to ensure clarity of scope and expectations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes, templates, and tooling
