Position Summary: Employee will be responsible for explaining billing statements in a clear patient-friendly manner and ensure patients understand, charges, insurance coverage and payment responsibilities. Employee must be detailed oriented and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy. Must have the capacity to remain calm and composed in a high-pressure or emotionally challenged situations and be skilled in de-escalating and guiding conflicts and guiding patients toward resolution. Must be proficient in accurately documenting conversations and patient interactions with the hospital billing system to ensure records are clear and compliant with HIPAA and hospital standard. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Billing and terminology experience is preferred.
