About The Position

This position will be responsible for the Controls Engineering requirements on some of the highest profile, most strategic projects across the Andersen Enterprise.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar technology field
  • Strong technical experience in Automation and Controls Engineering (PLC, Motion, Servo, Robotics, etc.)
  • Manufacturing Environment experience
  • formal problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions
  • Able to Design/Modify/Debug Allen Bradley PLC and HMI Systems that use an enterprise standard o Studio 5000 (V. 24 – up to current). o RS Logix 500/5000 Ladder Logic o RSLinx or FactoryTalk Linx Browser o FactoryTalk View Studio Machine Edition AND/OR Site Edition o Plus - MES Integrations o Plus - Beckhoff IPC/EPC Experience o Plus – FactoryTalk Optix o Plus - Traditional language programming (JavaScript, C++, etc.). o Plus - Node-RED
  • Experience with following Protocols: o Ethernet/IP o Plus - Modbus TCP/IP and/or RTU o Plus - OPCUA o Plus - IO-Link
  • Experience working o Variable Freq Drive (VFD) Configuration/Specification and Integration o AutoCAD to read Wiring Diagrams o Sensor Application and Specification o Integrating and supporting complex machines o LAN and Network Switch Configurations
  • Flexible Hybrid Work Schedule: onsite 3 days/week
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience with a variety of leading-edge development languages, platforms and methodologies
  • Familiar with a variety of application development methodologies including SDLC, Agile and Scrum
  • Able to work individually as well as in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design/Develop/Implement/Debug PLC and HMI programs
  • Partner with operations leadership, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to lead and manage change.
  • Work with business partners and leverage data to determine improvement opportunities
  • Provide technical direction and expertise to guide and support Electrical Engineering Technician team on troubleshooting calls and continuous improvement projects
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for site specific technicians/technologists
  • Communicating and verifying documentation requirements are met
  • Evaluate PLC hardware Specifications
  • Cross functional work within a project team and across various enterprise locations
  • Work with External Venders and Integrators
  • Work directly in an agile team with MES & ERP resources
