Location 680 Lake Shore Drive Job Description General Summary: This position serves in a senior leadership role in the Center for Childhood Resilience. The Center for Childhood Resilience (CCR) is a program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. This Senior Program Leaders position leads programmatic, project and strategic leadership to CCR including plans, coordinates, communicates and evaluates systems and processes that enhance and further CCR. Builds and maintains strong, collaborative working relationships within Lurie Children’s and with external parties. The position actively supports the CCR team, Department and Hospital efforts to achieve continuous quality improvement, customer service goals through modeling of appropriate behavior and by providing a work environment conducive to attaining these goals.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited university. LCSW or equivalent licensure required.
Minimum of sixteen (16) years of work experience required with progressive leadership, program management and planning expertise. Experience in school, early childhood education, child welfare, healthcare or mental health settings required.
Demonstrated strong leadership skills; ability to lead in a collaborative and facilitative style to build consensus and collective impact.
Demonstrated successful program management experience including developing and implementing program and project plans, managing quality improvement efforts, individuals and teams, and leading partner relationships.
Possesses excellent training and consultation skills that foster active participation and new knowledge and skill acquisition.
Proven experience successfully delivering in-person and web-based consultation and professional development to range of professionals representing different youth-serving agencies.
Self-directed, with in-depth understanding of the organizational goals.
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic project-based team environment that works to respond with flexibility to meet project needs and deadlines.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals from different backgrounds and disciplines.
Local travel to project sites and client locations required. May include some overnight travel.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentation software and working knowledge of database technologies required.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated successful fundraising experience including state, federal and philanthropic awards, grant writing, management and reporting, donor engagement and stewardship preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with youth exposed to trauma and violence and living in low-opportunity and high-risk communities preferred.

Responsibilities

Leads functional area including strategic direction, innovation and investigation goals, and coordination across other areas and programs to maximize effectiveness, resources, knowledge sharing and alignment.
Responsible to develop and lead new and existing partnerships in alignment with strategic priorities.
Ensures that functional area and programs have a clear plan for investigation or quality improvement that demonstrate the impact of the work and identifies areas for improvement. Leads efforts to develop new areas of work and funding, including working with Operations to create proposals and budgets that provide adequate support for functional and program goals and in alignment with strategic priorities.
Responsible to secure continued and new external funding to sustain and advance the work of CCR and functional area. Including philanthropic, government, and state grants and proposals in collaboration with partners within and outside of Lurie Children’s; ensure goals, objectives and reporting requirements are met; support relationship management of funders, potential funders and strategic partners.
Responsible for staffing, recruitment and hiring for functional area including recruitment and hiring in alignment with funding and budgets. Responsible for the onboarding and training of new team members in collaboration with other functional area and program leaders. Participates in performance reviews of team members.
Responsible for key external and internal partnerships and relationships with focus on those that have high potential for impact, represent new growth opportunities and enhance the reputation of CCR at local, regional and national levels.
Promotes evidence-based practices through training and delivering supported implementation/technical assistance on clinical mental health interventions. This includes collaboration with national experts to complete certified trainer credentialing and disseminate interventions, supported implementation and research and evaluation efforts.
Responsible for innovation, investigation and evaluation of program efforts and achievement of scholarly activities including publishing and presenting at local, regional, and national conferences, focusing on identifying school mental health projects that have high potential for contributing to the research literature and for raising the visibility of CCR, Department and Hospital.
Represents CCR and Lurie Children’s in public spaces, including acting as a content expert regarding matters of child and adolescent behavioral and mental matters, and by responding to media requests.
Contributes to CCR and Hospital advocacy mission through participation in local, state, and national stakeholder and advocacy boards related to mental health services and the impact of trauma and violence on children, youth, and communities.
Provides seminars and training experiences for trainees (psychiatry fellows, psychology, and social work interns) and interested professionals on CCR community-based mental health activities, including trauma-informed practices, advocacy, school-based mental health services, and school-community collaborations.
Provides supervision and mentoring for postdoctoral fellow(s) and trainees (psychiatry fellows, psychology, and social work interns). Participates in the educational mission of the Department and Hospital including presentations at didactics, provides clinical supervision to designated personnel (trainees, staff, and interns) as assigned per program, completing evaluations as required.
Assumes other programmatic, operations and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
