Mechanics Bank is currently hiring a Sr. Commercial Review Appraiser to join our team. The Sr. Commercial Review Appraiser will manage internal and third party commercial appraisal assignments. Review appraisal reports to ensure compliance with regulatory and bank requirements, as well as standard appraisal methodology. What you will do: Review commercial appraisal reports to ensure compliance with regulatory and bank requirements as well as standard appraisal methodology. Prepare technical or administrative appraisal review documents (per policy) per USPAP Standards 1 through 3. Manage commercial appraisal assignments from receipt of assignment of appraisal request through completion of internal review. Input accurate data/metrics and maintain appraisal review job files on all department systems (i.e. RIMS, Global DMS eTrac, etc.) of assigned jobs. Attend continuing education appraisal courses as needed to ensure compliance with state license and professional designation (if applicable) requirements and to continue to expand appraisal technical and market knowledge. Assist appraisal department with annual review of fee appraisers to ensure adequate and consistent competency, quality and service levels. Who you are: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field preferred. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum 5 years of related appraisal experience is required. Completion of Appraisal Institute advanced commercial and review courses preferred. Advanced understanding of all facets of valuation of real estate required. Active General Certified License (AG) in the state of residence is required. MAI and/or AI-GRS designations preferred. Valid Driver’s License required or available transportation. Advanced knowledge of standard valuation methodology for all types of real estate, primarily commercial sector. Complete understanding of regulatory appraisal requirements (i.e. USPAP, Interagency Guidelines) as well as bank policies and procedures. Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), DCF software (i.e. Argus) and other operational software as required. Possess excellent research skills and proficiency with researching sales and market data. Possess excellent verbal and writing skills. Possess effective time management and organizational skills. High level of accuracy and great attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Consistently demonstrate tact, discretion and good judgment. Exhibit high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Able to work effectively without direct supervision.
