About The Position

Summary (Main Purpose) Creates, edits, and reviews CMM/Romer programs in PC-Dmis and Micro-Vu programs using Inspec. Assists with the design, development, and implementation of Quality fixturing. Able to run the CMM, Romer, and Micro-Vu in a production environment to prove out programs, troubleshoot issues, and perform gage studies as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 years of experience operating and/or programming CMM equipment preferred
  • At least 2 years of technician, machining, and/or measurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Able to give guidance on GD&T, blueprints, and inspection reports.
  • Knowledge and use of PC-DMIS program preferred, but other software experience considered.
  • Knowledge and use of Inspec software for Micro-Vus preferred, but experience with other vision systems considered.
  • Ability to apply methods for establishing the correlation between measurement instruments, including gauge-to-gauge or manual-to-automated processes.
  • Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in the English language.
  • Knowledge of industrial math, including arithmetic, geometry, and statistics.
  • Knowledge of computer-integrated manufacturing software, including accessing and retrieving information using the computer.
  • Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.
  • Self-directed; ability to work independently.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the Aerospace, Medical or other highly regulated industry
  • AS9100, ISO 13485, and NADCAP experience
  • Working knowledge and understanding of statistical process control applications and interpretation of results.
  • Experience with CNC machining

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, 3D models (STEP/IGES), and customer specifications.
  • Perform Gage R & R and correlation studies.
  • Processes and maintains all quality records per appropriate procedures to maintain accountability, acceptance, and status.
  • Train operators and inspectors on the use of CMM programs and inspection best practices.
  • Participates with engineering in the identification of inspection and test equipment, tools, and gauges required to achieve quality target levels. May recommend updates in inspection and test techniques to improve productivity/accuracy and eliminate inconsistencies through the development of standards of acceptability. Assists engineering with the disposition of non-conforming workpieces, parts, components, and material.
  • Creates and edits CMM, Romer, and Micro-Vu programs. Run this equipment in a production environment to prove out programs, troubleshoot issues, and perform gage studies.
  • Assists with engineering in designing CMM inspection fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing non-conformances and figure out solutions to problems with the measurement systems.
  • Supports and assists quality improvement teams, engineers, and operations to resolve problem issues and improve quality.
  • May participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe environment and maintains 5 “S” standards. Complies with safety rules, including Personal Protective Equipment and OSHA standards.
  • Participates in Lean initiatives eliminating wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion and over-processing without sacrificing accuracy of the measurement systems.
