The Sr. Precision Inspector/CMM Programmer evaluates engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements to determine appropriate metrology methods. They perform high-precision inspections, calibrations, and gage R&R studies across a broad range of components to exacting tolerances. Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 5+ years in related role with programming and operation experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, inspection instructions, GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Experience with CMMs, CAD, and Excel.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • All roles, including remote positions, require an in-person interview as part of the hiring process.

  • ASQ CMI/CQI preferred within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Precision Dimensional Inspection: Perform precision dimensional inspections of products, tooling, and components using a full range of inspection equipment, from basic to advanced. Accurately document inspection results in electronic systems.
  • Measurement System Programming: Develop and maintain automatic measurement programs ranging from simple to complex, leveraging full system capabilities. Operate and troubleshoot CMM equipment to ensure reliable measurement performance.
  • Administration and Data Management: Track inspection requests and job status, and record time, labor, dimensional data, and related metrics. Maintain the equipment calibration database and controlled documentation for production parts.
  • Analysis: Independently plan and execute measurement system studies and process capability analyses. Organize data, prepare control charts and distribution curves, and interpret results to support process improvement.
  • Measurement Equipment Calibration: Perform verification and calibration of measurement equipment. Coordinate external calibration services, including shipping and receiving, and support the design of fixtures and gauges.
  • Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate inspection and analysis reports with appropriate interpretation of results. Review findings directly with stakeholders as needed.
