Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America) The Senior Clerical Receptionist supports the daily operations of the medical practice and helps coordinate clerical and reception functions to ensure a positive patient experience. This role serves as a primary point of contact for patients, providers, and referral sources while supporting administrative and operational needs of the practice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clerical or healthcare office experience required
  • Proficiency with PC-based systems including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic medical records
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain accurate records
  • Monday - Friday ; various hours to be discussed at the interview

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional customer service to patients in person and by phone
  • Manage patient intake, registration, scheduling, and discharge processes
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information and complete intake documentation
  • Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing-related activities including authorizations, payment processing, and addressing denials or alerts
  • Review referrals and coordinate intake appointments with providers and specialty programs
  • Maintain patient records and logs in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) and other computer systems to enter, audit, and manage patient and operational data
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and forms using word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, faxing, copying, mail distribution, and supply ordering
  • Assist with training and onboarding of clerical staff and support EMR processes and updates
  • Maintain knowledge of physician schedules, specialties, and accepted insurance plans
  • Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
