We are currently seeking to add a Sr. Civil Engineer to our dynamic team in Vancouver, Washington. Apex Companies LLC is seeking a highly motivated senior civil engineer with experience in leading civil engineering design projects and providing direction to civil design teams. This position would serve various public and private clients within existing portfolio and provide opportunities for highly motivated candidates to develop new client relationships. Our teams specialize in delivering multi-disciplinary projects that incorporate the full breadth of Apex services and strategic subconsultant partners.

Requirements

10+ years' experience as a consulting engineer providing design and project management of local agency or state transportation projects
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and professional registration (P.E) in Washington and/or Oregon
A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints.
A proven history of meeting project timelines and budgets.
Demonstrated skills developing relationships with local municipalities and utilities
Familiarity with local code requirements
Ability to develop creative engineering solutions to address project constraints
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management.
Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, HyrdoCAD, WWHM2012

Responsibilities

Plan and administer medium to large transportation infrastructure projects.
Provide leadership in the design of efficient and constructable civil projects.
Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports and take corrective action, as necessary.
Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met.
Mentor young design professionals.
Participate in business development opportunities.
Participate in professional organizations and functions.
