The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The person hired for the position will provide technical management for a unique line of specialty products within manufacturing. This position provides technical leadership for process tracking, control and improvement, as well as new product introduction for critical applications. This position will be a part of a team working on current and next generation novel products. As a Sr. Chemical Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Technically support processes and equipment according to production needs and in compliance with changing economic, safety, security, environmental and quality requirements. Plan, technically manage, and organize the engineering and technical support to production plant as assigned by the Operations Manager. This support includes maintenance activities, technical changes/improvements, project management and technical documentation with a drive toward continuous improvement. Providing engineering expertise in development of equipment specifications, engineering drawings, controls logic and design of a variety of chemical operations equipment and facilities. Providing a strong engineering drive to initiate studies, projects and improvements and to solve complex problems with a focus on long-term technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of Chemical, Petrochemical, or Refining Industry experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience with PLC’s/Honeywell DCS, small project management, process improvement methodologies and OSHA-PSM
  • Proven ability to translate a strong fundamental knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering principles into practical applications and solutions
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions and work well in group problem solving situations
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to commit to aggressive timelines and to deliver on those commitments
  • Experience and proven track-record using Lean/Six Sigma tools preferred
  • Identify technology trends for business and develop technical road maps to address them
  • Deliver effective presentations, reports and publications internally and externally as appropriate
