About The Position

As a Chemical Process Engineer at Formlabs Ohio, you will be the driving force behind our production efficiency and technical evolution . By leading the scale-up of new resins and optimizing equipment design, you will directly enable our ability to deliver high-quality materials at scale . Your work in troubleshooting, process redesign, and continuous improvement will not only reduce costs but also foster a culture of safety and innovation that is critical to our manufacturing success .

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in a medium scale chemical facility
• Have a BS in chemical engineering
• Ability to work as an individual and with the maintenance team when needed
• Safety conscious and ready to promote safe behaviors

Nice To Haves

• Proficient with Microsoft products and 2D/3D CAD programs
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe practices related to chemical manufacturing
• Experience with polymers, oligomers, and polymerization
• Some exposure/experience with automation, packaging lines, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plant engineering duties

Responsibilities

• Process monitoring and troubleshooting
• Recommend improvements or redesigns for equipment and processes to meet safety, quality, production, and cost goals
• Effectively interact with R & D, production, and maintenance teams
• Prepare premises alongside maintenance team for process improvement and equipment installation
• Establish alternatives and costs for both new installations and modifications to equipment
• Help build a culture of continuous improvement
• Help with design, planning, and implementation of any added equipment to optimize production and decrease cost
• Process improvement (uptime, capacity release, cost performance, yield)
• SOP and other documentation review, revision, and creation
• Lead scale up for mixing of new resins
• Help investigate equipment needed for new resins
• Effective communication at all levels
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor
