About The Position

Develops, negotiates, and leads sourcing strategies that drive measurable improvements in the area of consumer satisfaction, compliance/supplier diversity and cost benefits in the procurement of direct and indirect goods and services. Identify opportunities and innovation by leveraging suppliers’ ideas and product capabilities for global product management assessment.

Requirements

  • Minimum six years’ experience in a Sourcing, Contract Negotiation, or Supply Chain role or bachelor’s degree in business management (Logistics/Supply Chain/Sourcing)/ Engineering/Project Management with minimum four years' experience in a Sourcing, Contract Negotiation, or Supply Chain role
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills and superb negotiation skills to interface with suppliers and internal management.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.  Bilingual in Spanish/Chinese/Vietnamese preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated PC skills, Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Low-Cost Global sourcing and procurement is preferred
  • Knowledge of Engineering is beneficial
  • Knowledge of ERP systems preferred.
  • ISM certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Determines the sourcing, selection, and procurement of products and services that are within the incumbent’s procurement responsibilities.
  • Negotiates financial contractual agreements for those products and services that are within the assigned procurement category. Develops commercial terms and conditions, contracts and agreements for the purchase of goods and services while coordinating with legal counsel assigned.
  • Investigates, identifies and implements alternative sourcing options for products and services that may improve quality while reducing overall cost; provide alternate source vendors where required to meet surge demands; work with end users to resolve critical sourcing issues.
  • Leads and negotiates with suppliers and team the timelines, samples, regulatory, safety, quality and specifications for effective product launch.
  • Develops and maintains supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations and service level requirements while ensuring continuous improvement and the encouragement of innovative ideas.
  • Evaluates suppliers performance by tracking how well they work with departments based on response to: on-time shipment, quality and safety programs, product technology development programs and cost, and recommends a corrective action plan if necessary.
  • Analyzes economic market trends and changes in business practices that would affect product quality, pricing and product availability, and recommends alternative solutions.
  • Collaborates with business partners on new product introductions and line extensions by managing standard cost, gross profit, quality and safety requirements along with on-time delivery.
  • Establishes standard costs; analyzes and problem solves purchase price variances against financial corporate standards to deliver exceptional business and financial results.
  • Partners with Hallmark Global Procurement to maximize the cost and supplier relationship opportunities associated with common supply needs.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance of purchasing policies and practices to control procurement function.
  • Participates and adheres to Hallmark’s Supplier Diversity Program.
  • Commercial contract management review with in depth business knowledge; and liaison between Legal, Information Security and Business Unit.
  • Customer driven sustainability surveys and goals. Collect and provide sustainability data/report to key customers
  • Supports natural gas & electricity hedging reviews and authorizations.
  • Overall responsibility for Crayola indirect spend.
  • Member Hallmark Sustainability Strategy Team, and leading Crayola sustainable projects
