About The Position

Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Sr. Buyer. This position will be located at our Torrance, CA facility. The Sr. Buyer will be responsible for purchasing indirect material and strategically assigned items at the best total value, considering cost, quality, and delivery. The Buyer role includes coordinating with strategic sourcing and managing supplier fulfillment from purchase order issuance to part receipt into stock and/or service rendered. In this role, you will exhibit expertise in supplier selection for new and existing part numbers, negotiation, order placement, supplier follow-up, measurement and control of supplier performance, value analysis, and evaluation of new materials and processes. ​ The expected annual salary range for this role is $99000 - $145000 a year. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in supply chain purchasing/procurement.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Torrance, CA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of BOM management, items master setup.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills in complex and demanding situations that undergo continuous priority changes.
  • Demonstrated use of negotiated techniques and tactics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a cross-functional team.
  • Proven experience selecting and choosing suppliers for new and existing part numbers.
  • Proficient in use and interpretation of MRP systems.
  • Proven experience implementing suppliers’ agreements: stocking/consignment projects, lead-time reduction, LTA’s.
  • Worked in Aerospace and Military Plants and/or experience with Engineer to order production or low volume high mix production.
  • Advanced excel capabilities.
  • Experience presenting to senior level managers.
  • May be required to work beyond normal office hours, occasionally to meet schedule commitments.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP advanced user.
  • APICS/ CPIM certification.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers to obtain price reduction and improve delivery dates.
  • Experience supporting the aerospace industry and/or experience in an Engineer to Order or high mix/low volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Issue purchase orders in MRP system to suppliers. Quote, analyze quantity to order for assigned purchased parts for the site.
  • Serve as Indirect/MRO purchasing lead and places orders through Ariba, Versatex, etc. as required to support production and facility needs.
  • Control inventory impact by analyzing MOQ vs. consumption.
  • Comply with Supply Chain and Purchasing procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing team members.
  • Run, analyze and report causes with action plan for price variances (PPV) and Indirect Material Cost Out.
  • Coordinate and co-lead supplier delivery performance.
  • Analyze mid and long term stockouts, lead the team to provide resolution to protect sales.
  • MESH Champion.
  • Review and update local purchasing procedures as required. ISO representative for the site.
  • Maintain MRP health by aligning PO dates and managing PO quantities.
  • Run and respond to daily MRP report (Place PO, Reschedule In, Reschedule Out, Cancels, Late PO’s).
  • Resolve PO/Invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Process supplier-related RMA’s.
  • Ensure fixed vendors align with divisional approved supply base.
  • Maintain SAP data Integrity. Update PIR, lead time, MOQ (etc.) for new and existing part numbers to reflect market conditions and as required by Enovia change request actions Track progression of purchase orders, investigate factors that affect schedules, and modify plans as necessary.
  • Expedite critical orders throughout the supply chain, works with divisional supply chain team for escalations.
  • Inform management of potential supply problems and assist in the implementation of both short and long term solutions.
  • Analyze forecasted demand (or generates statistical forecast) and work on long-term agreements with suppliers.
  • Collaborate cross functionally and attend daily production meeting to ensure site meets and exceeds OTD and sales goals.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
