FlexSteel embodies teamwork with a focus on hiring top talent and developing employees. Responsible for the procurement and management of supply chains for the procurement of Resin and Steel. In the Buyer role you will purchase MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) supplies and Raw Material as required to support manufacturing. Ensure companies production needs are met taking into account quality, cost and timing. Requirements

  • Experience with steel and resin
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools
  • Market knowledge and awareness of industry trends
  • Experience with steel and resin
  • 7-10 years experience in working within an MRP driven manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage complex contracts with suppliers, including price, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, addressing issues promptly, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast future needs and ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, legal regulations, and ethical sourcing practice
  • Negotiate, source, and assist in vendor selection.
  • Analyze spending patterns, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Utilize procurement data to identify trends, assess supplier performance, and make informed purchasing decisions
  • May mentor and guide junior buyers within the procurement team
  • Perform any other functions, activities, or duties as directed by their supervisor.
