About The Position

Primarily manages a non-crop product portfolio and is responsible for the product brand strategies as well as the development, management, and execution of overall marketing tactics to optimize price and volumes for sustained profitability. These plans include product positioning, price, marketing programs, placement, customer and end-use segmentation; and provide guidance for the development and production of promotional materials for assigned portfolio. This individual is expected to be a proactive energetic professional who can multi-task effectively, offer quick and accurate advice and provide creative input to help advance our brands. They need to be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a strong team approach to organizational priorities and projects.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
  • At least 7 years of related experience
  • Sales and/or product management experience
  • Strategic analysis, marketing principles, problem solving, financial acumen, forecasting, persuasion, negotiation, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Business planning, organization, and creative skills
  • Approximately 20 - 40 % travel by car or air
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong computational skills
  • Agricultural crop knowledge for the US and Canada

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and execution of marketing plans for assigned portfolio based on strategic direction as well as customer, competitor, and market insight; assign tasks/projects; train and develop; communicate priorities and objectives. This includes leading the development of product life cycle management strategies that create added value for sustained sales growth and profit.
  • Manage third party strategic partners, including could be go-to-market partner, to optimize impact on sales and ROI.
  • Collaborate with commercial leaders to develop plans and tactics that maximize impact on sales and ROI.
  • Asset management team member for assigned product portfolio to provide commercial direction on project priorities that includes all professional products and non-crop segments, in the US and Canada; and ensure the successful development, registration, and commercial launch of products within their assigned portfolio.
  • Leads the development of internal processes such as budgeting, forecasting, program development, accruals and pipeline development
