The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst provides expertise utilizing a wide range of business intelligence principles, theories, concepts, or techniques to solve problems or make recommendations relating to customer requirements, specifications, and quality assurance standards. The best candidate is able to work independently to develop and review complex requirements. The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst develops and evaluates new or existing complex systems or processes. The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst consults with and advises customers concerning efficient methods of automating, implementing, or improving business processes in relation to existing or future systems. The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the support of database development and maintenance within the Resource Management and Transformation (RMT) Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, having in depth customer knowledge, providing Oracle support, developing APEX and Tableau solutions on behalf of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clients, as well as managing the expectations and relationships of business stakeholders. You will be part of a team who will: Develop database applications in an Oracle APEX environment Design, create, deploy, and manage the organizational data structure, translating business needs into mission appropriate long-term data architecture solutions including data access analysis and warehousing design and implementation. Review and develop data reference architecture, data models, and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management focusing on secure and rapid access. Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive and recovery, and implementation planning. Develop data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and systems integration. Assist with cloud architecture and migration Create/edit reports in Excel and other tools Support report generation using OCFO Operational Tracker and RMT Flight Deck (Apex applications) and Tableau You will also: Participate in the data governance, review, and refinement of data and metadata standards in alignment with customer data and data technology standards that include attribute based access control. Collaborate with team members to develop data plans and proposed solutions that will interface and enhance current Government architectures. Participate in data design reviews and data integration in support of project transition into production. Contribute to operational plans including data technology, data storage management, and architectural criteria that promote continual data assessment and audit capabilities for security and quality control. Create documentation and contribute to architectural and migration efforts for data in a Cloud environment. Support engineering and development efforts working in a DHS Systems Engineering LifeCycle (SELC) environment.
