Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst
About The Position
The Sr Business Intelligence Analyst supports the reporting & data analytics function across the enterprise as part of the Business Intelligence team. This position is responsible for consulting with and offering guidance to senior management, operational/functional leads, and others to understand the business requirements of reporting initiatives and transform raw data into actionable and meaningful insights within compelling Tableau-based dashboards. The Sr BI Analyst supports the Business Intelligence team by fielding requests for reporting/dashboards, assisting with ad hoc analysis exercises, analyzing large amounts of data, and providing meaningful insights/reporting that will track key performance indicators and answer business questions with data.
Requirements
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Business, or Management Information Systems
- 5 years in business intelligence analytics
Responsibilities
- Lead high visibility analytical projects to identify and recommend reporting solutions of strategic importance to the organization in Pricing, Finance, Sales, Operations, Marketing, etc.
- Synthesize complex information and present relevant insights to senior management verbally, in writing, and visually in a clear, easy-to-follow, and intuitive manner
- Provide necessary training/support implementation of new reports/dashboards during rollouts
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis by leveraging complex datasets in Tableau Desktop (publish to Tableau Online as needed) - working in tandem with Manager of BI and Data Modelers
- Interpret data, analyze results and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Track key performance indicators with a strong focus on validating calculations/data and connecting KPIs to real business impact over time
- Assist the Manager of BI and team with integrating data from multiple sources across the enterprise to produce requested or required data elements used in analytical projects and dashboards
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements by performing quality data audits in tandem with the Salesforce Administration team as well as other platform Business Analysts at USS
- Create specifications for reports based on business requests from reporting business owners
- Utilize knowledge of data/SQL modeling to assist the BI team in concept and production data models leveraged for both analytical projects and production Tableau reports published to the broad organization
- Assist with analytics campaigns ad hoc requests, assessing operational impacts of data-driven decisions, and analyzing trends and opportunities along the way
- Critical thinker with excellent communication skills who can take a business need and distill them into all the various components of the BI development process
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with various stakeholders, planning out projects and tracking progress on regular cadences, and delivering results/supporting the product upon delivery
