About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting organization with data and reporting development and support to assist with month-end close processes, financial reporting, budget solutions and data and all ad-hoc requests. This includes working with corporate and field finance, IT and accounting organizations to develop process, reporting and analytical solutions. The role provides opportunity to refine and develop business, operational, financial and business system knowledge while working with members of multiple disciplines and levels within the organization. The team environment is one where one person can make a difference by utilizing technical and analytic skills to identify actionable opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field required; MBA a plus 5-8 years of experience desired
  • Proven analytic and quantitative decision-making skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, data management and problem solving skills
  • Proven analytic and quantitative decision-making skills, including the ability to pull meaningful insights out of large data sets
  • Financial experience / understanding of basic forecasting and budgeting concepts
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office. Advanced capabilities with xlookups, pivot tables, and advanced macro writing abilities, as well as the ability to build complex, scenario based, input driven models is a minimum requirement.
  • Deep experience with Financial/Accounting Systems/Platforms (Oracle preferred) that would enable building application solutions and modules as well as potential administrative tasks.
  • User support experience also will be required
  • Broad business knowledge, organizational awareness and an understanding of business profitability drivers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface efficiently with all levels of management – ability to provide clear, concise explanations of complex problems to management
  • Strong work ethic and results orientation required for fast paced, customer-focused environment
  • Strong project management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
  • Intellectually curious with an ability to handle steep learn

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close using current financial reporting applications as well as develop future enhancements for close and reporting needs
  • Building and maintaining complex financial models. Will include building or improving models and forecasting/budgeting tools to help the Summit team increase projection accuracy
  • Develop ad hoc internal reports for use by the senior leadership and the executive team
  • Develop solutions and processes, as well as update data, for a number of key performance metrics
  • Develop in-depth reporting for fuel purchasing, along with analytical models to more accurately project needs and expenses
  • Involvement in development of future ERP/EPM systems (new or improvements)
