About The Position

Internship At ServiceNow we're looking for students who want to learn, grow, and take a giant step early in their career, all while making a giant impact. Interns will participate in executive speaker series, career development workshops, philanthropic efforts, and team building activities. Job Description We are seeking a Master’s-level intern in Business Analytics and/or Informatics to act as a Product Owner for several dashboards that deliver enterprise insights into subscription entitlements and usage. The role is deliverable-focused, with clear objectives to complete during the internship: Key Deliverables 1. Stakeholder Insights & Requirements Definition Package Objective: Ensure dashboard enhancements are grounded in real customer and field needs. Description: Lead structured feedback collection with customer-facing analysts and understand how entitlement and usage data is consumed, where gaps exist, and what decisions users are trying to make. Key Outputs: Summary of qualitative and quantitative feedback (themes, pain points, unmet needs) Clearly articulated user personas and use cases Prioritized list of business requirements tied to outcomes (e.g., renewal risk, expansion identification) Traceability between stakeholder feedback and proposed dashboard capabilities 2. Product Backlog & User Story Portfolio Objective: Translate insights into actionable, delivery-ready work. Description: Synthesiz e requirements into well-defined epics, features, and user stories , applying product management and agile best practices. Stories will include acceptance criteria, data definitions, and success metrics. Key Outputs: Groomed and prioritized product backlog for entitlement and usage dashboards User stories written in business-friendly, outcome-driven language Defined KPIs and success metrics for each major feature Dependencies, risks, and data readiness considerations documented 3. Feature Delivery, Validation & Adoption Readout Objective: Drive high-quality delivery and measurable adoption of new functionality. Description: Partner with IT and analytics engineering teams to prioritize work, support sprint execution, participate in testing , and validate that delivered functionality meets stakeholder needs. Post-launch, they will assess adoption and effectiveness. Key Outputs: Sprint-level prioritization recommendations and release notes UAT plans and documented testing outcomes Post-launch feedback from Sales and Customer Success Adoption and usage analysis with recommendations for iteration

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Master’s degree in Analytics, Informatics, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation between no earlier than December 2026 but preferably May–June 2027.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics to inform product decisions, including experience working with dashboards, reporting, or data visualization tools.
  • Experience using or critically evaluating AI-powered tools to improve workflows, decision-making, or insights (e.g., analytics automation, data summarization, forecasting, or intelligent recommendations).
  • Strong ability to gather, synthesize, and translate feedback from customer-facing teams (Sales, Customer Success, Renewals) and/or customers into clear requirements and user stories.
  • Proven aptitude for product ownership or agile delivery, including backlog management, prioritization, acceptance criteria definition, and user acceptance testing (formal or academic experience acceptable).
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with technical teams (IT, data engineering, analytics) and business stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused, analytical, and outcome-oriented mindset with the ability to think strategically while executing at a detailed level.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and willing to step in where needed to help the team operate more efficiently.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Jira, or similar is a plus.
  • Previous internship, research, or project experience in analytics, product management, consulting, or enterprise systems is a plus.
