About The Position

We are seeking a meticulous, dynamin and team-oriented individual to join our Rare Neurodevelopmental Disease Team in Sanofi’s Rare Disease Therapeutic Area group. In this position, the individual will support efforts to characterize and develop preclinical molecules or biologics as well as disease models (cells and animals) aimed at treating patients with rare diseases. Duties will include a broad range of in vitro and in vivo techniques as well as the execution of established assays to better understand the various emerging modalities currently in pre-clinic stage to treat rare neurodevelopmental diseases. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus minimum 4 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR Master's Degree plus minimum 1 year of relevant research experience.
  • Strong in vivo technical expertise including animal handling, various routes of administration (IV, SC, IP, ICV), anesthesia, and necropsy.
  • Experience with in vivo models of rare neurodevelopmental disorders and associated functional readouts.
  • Proficiency in cell culture techniques, including iPSC culture systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with transfection of several types of cell lines.
  • Experience with RNA handling and downstream analysis (RNA extraction, RT-qPCR)
  • Experience with protein handling (ELISA/MSD, assays, pull-downs, Westerns, etc.).
  • Experience with high-throughput screening and assay development.
  • Experience integrating human biology datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics) into experimental workflows.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and data analysis software.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology research settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments and studies in support of rare disease research projects and company drug discovery goals.
  • Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments in both in vivo and in vitro settings.
  • Support the development of new methodologies and approaches as needed.
  • Conduct of a broad range of established in vivo techniques including handling mice, IV, IP, SC and ICV injections, anesthesia, necropsy, collection of mouse tissues as well as behavior, cognitive and motor functional assays (treadmill, rotarod, grip strength, elevated plus maze assay, open field, marbles burying assay) and Electroencephalogram (EEG).
  • Execute a broad range of in vitro protocols including culturing human and mouse cells, cell transfection, RNA extraction, RT-qPCR, analysis, Western blots, ELISA, plate-based assay (MSD).
  • Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results to team members and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records following scientific rigor standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices.
