About The Position

Total Wine & More is seeking a Senior Analyst, Spirits Category Management to join our Merchandising team onsite in Bethesda, MD. In this role, you will support key initiatives that enhance the performance and profitability of the Spirits category through data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. You will evaluate category performance, develop insights to guide assortment and pricing strategies, and assist with promotional and supplier planning efforts. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills who is eager to grow their career in category management within the beverage industry. You will report to the Director, Spirits Category Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • 1–4 years of experience in category management, merchandising, assortment planning, finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communicator, capable of working collaboratively across departments and presenting insights to stakeholders.
  • Passion for retail, analytics, and the beverage industry; interest in learning about spirits and category trends.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate category performance by creating tools and reports to analyze sales, margin, and market data - identifying trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Support category review cycles by preparing reports, summaries, and recommendations that guide assortment, pricing, and promotional decisions.
  • Facilitate collaboration across Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure smooth execution of new product launches and promotional initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and dashboards that improve visibility into business performance and category health.
  • Support buying operations by assisting in product setup, tracking promotional performance, executing allocation strategies, and supporting business review analysis.
  • Implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and data accuracy within reporting and category management workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met for ongoing projects and seasonal resets.
  • Present findings and insights to category managers and leadership, helping translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.
