As a Sr. Analyst, Digital Analytics at Petco, you’ll discover insights that drive eCommerce business strategy for our website and app. You will lead projects end to end and have the opportunity to work with large, diverse and rapidly growing data sets to understand our customers pain points and improve experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, math or related business field; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in analytics capacity.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL required; proficiency in R and/or Python a plus.
  • Experience with self-serve reporting and data visualization tools (Adobe, Looker).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, due to the nature and level of interaction with senior management.
  • Advanced quantitative modeling, statistical analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.

  • Related experience in eCommerce company a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques and programming languages to mine through massive data sets and isolate patterns in customer purchase behavior, digital performance, and competitive pricing schemes (regression analysis, predictive modeling, clustering, design of experiments or A/B testing, text mining, etc).
  • Influence strategic decisions and create accurate financial forecasts based on deep customer behavior analyses with tangible recommendations to optimize customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Utilize exceptional communication skills to present findings across the business by effectively translating complex data and analysis into clear insights, opportunities, and tangible business recommendations; regular updates to senior executives required.
  • Develop automated dashboards and build compelling data visualizations that effectively measure, track, and quantify changes in digital performance.
  • Manage complex long-term projects from initial scoping through full execution and training with inputs from a variety of cross-functional teams (IT, Merchandising, Marketing).
  • Collaborate with data science team as an expert on the business by providing direction on how to best leverage advanced modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms to achieve strategic objectives and business goals.
  • Display deep intellectual curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learning in order to solve critical business problems and push the boundary of our capabilities.
