This opportunity is in the Advanced Analytics Department: Curious about data analytics, artificial intelligence, and analytics engineering? Our Advanced Analytics department seeks students who are passionate about using data to solve meaningful business problems in a real-world enterprise setting. If you are interested in applying programming, machine learning, and AI techniques to complex structured data — while gaining exposure to how analytics supports underwriting, claims, and risk management — this is an opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives within a growing analytics team. Role Description: As an Advanced Analytics Intern, you will evaluate, organize, and analyze data in pursuit of business goals across Safety National. You will gather requirements, conduct analysis, and apply your knowledge of programming, statistics, and data modeling to help build or enhance internal data solutions. You will work closely with analytics and AI engineers and data scientists to support projects that improve how we structure, transform, and interpret complex insurance data. Responsibilities may include: Analyzing and profiling structured and semi-structured datasets Assisting with data modeling and transformation logic Writing and optimizing SQL queries in a relational database environment Supporting automation of repeatable data processes Contributing to applied AI initiatives, including proof-of-concept efforts using machine learning or large language models to help structure, classify, or interpret insurance data into analytics-ready formats. Some projects may involve exploring how modern AI techniques can assist in organizing complex inbound data or improving internal workflows. These efforts are exploratory in nature but grounded in real business use cases. You will be assigned both a mentor and a manager to support your development. While guidance will be provided, you will be expected to take ownership of your work, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to team objectives. Your coursework in programming, artificial intelligence, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or data engineering will be applied to real business challenges in a structured enterprise environment.
