About The Position

As a Senior Corrosion Advisor, you will provide technical expertise and oversight for corrosion and pipeline integrity programs across the gas transmission system. This role supports operational teams, engineering design, and project personnel in implementing corrosion prevention strategies, including coatings, cathodic protection, AC/DC mitigation, and internal corrosion management. Requirements

  • Technical diploma preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of field operations experience, with emphasis on corrosion programs.
  • Certifications: Corrosion Technologist Designation or AMPP CP2 (minimum) and/or other AMPP certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of cathodic protection systems, coatings, and corrosion mitigation strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Access, Excel) and basic GIS knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned location.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs, walking job sites).
  • Safety-sensitive role requiring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous corrosion experience in oil and gas pipelines.
  • Proficiency with AI Pipeline Compliance System (PCS).
  • Working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 and 195.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee corrosion-related regulatory and discretionary projects, including atmospheric inspections, annual surveys, bimonthly inspections, internal corrosion coupons, and indirect surveys (CIS, ACVG, DCVG).
  • Perform QA/QC on corrosion data and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements (PHMSA, OPUC, TXRRC).
  • Provide technical support and communicate with internal stakeholders on corrosion programs.
  • Lead collection and analysis of corrosion data for safety cases, engineering evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Support continuous improvement of corrosion processes, SOP development, and technology implementation.
  • Provide direction for installation and commissioning of corrosion-related equipment.
  • Mentor and train corrosion technicians and junior staff.
  • Support the development of remediation scopes of work and lead assist corrosion planning initiatives.
  • Ensure transparency and oversight in the execution of corrosion funding (OPEX and CAPEX) projects.
