This role focuses on leveraging advanced analytics and actuarial techniques to shape pricing strategies, develop predictive models, and ensure financial stability for our homeowners insurance products. Requirements

  • Successful completion of three or more actuarial exams
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required: Actuarial Science, Math/Applied Math or Statistics/Applied Statistics
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Advanced proficiency in Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization); familiarity with actuarial software and BI tools preferred
  • Experience programming in SQL, R or Python; R Shiny experience a plus
  • Experience with Property and Casualty insurance a plus
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to create and implement efficient processes
  • Technical proficiency and data skills
  • Collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rate adequacy analyses, including profitability reviews, trend analysis, and loss projections to support pricing decisions.
  • Completes detailed analyses, makes recommendations, and prepares rate package proposals for management review.
  • Prepares rate filing materials, exhibits, rate manual pages, and other data analyses promptly and accurately for use in filing rate and product changes.
  • Develop competitive intelligence reports, including benchmarking competitor rates and market pricing trends, to inform strategic positioning.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners in Product, Reserving, and Data Science.
  • Support the development and design of new products and programs.
  • Maintain progress toward actuarial credentials through ongoing exam completion and professional development activities
