About The Position

At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers to manage risk. Join us as an Actuarial Analyst to take on key responsibilities within a world-class actuarial function. Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG's major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk. The Pricing & Portfolio Management Actuaries focus on directly supporting AIG's businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics, performance monitoring and measurement, as well as assessment of reinsurance needs. The team also works with marketing, operations, and financial management to achieve AIG's business objectives. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of actuarial activities to support AIG's North American Accident & Health business unit. The position will work closely with business leads, product managers, underwriting and other functional areas to deliver a wide range of actuarial support for new and existing products. The successful candidate will be technically strong, possess deep actuarial and insurance knowledge, be able to manage priorities, and think creatively for new product expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Nearing ASA or ACAS Designation
  • 3+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in Accident and Health field.
  • Skills with Excel VBA, Power Point, Access.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of R, Python and/or other data visualization software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with North American Accident & Health business teams to design, price, file, and monitor a diverse line of A&H products.

  • Prepare experience reports and other required response materials per the regulatory requests.
  • Support strategic innovation initiatives through building and evaluating new products and benefits.
  • Assist with the preparation of actuarial memorandums and rate manuals to support regulatory filings. Respond to objections and regulatory requests.
  • Support experience and rate indication studies across accounts, portfolios, and business segments to ensure rate adequacy and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the budgeting process and other financial projection / reporting projects.
  • Interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of underwriting rating tools and engines.
  • Other ad-hoc and special projects as needed.
